A lookback at the age of grace and beauty capsuled in a timeless splendor.

Shehla Chatoor is one of the most sought after designers in Pakistan. She is brilliant at what she does and she sticks to the traditional themes with an occasional pretty play on the colors. The designer claims that she views the artisanal pieces like items of jewelry that can be passed onto the future generations as heirlooms.
Her collection ‘Aks’ (as in reflection) is a look back on the old world glamor of the bygone era. It is a timeless and heritage collection. The craft on these articles romanticized Swarovski crystals, gota, zardozi, maroni and mirror work (hence the name Aks). Given the blingy nature of the details, she kept her palette muted so the finer details could truly shine through.
The hues of pinks, reds, whites, silvers, golds of finely spun silks, cotton, velvet, tulle and organza; made sure that there was something to cater to everyone. The menswear capsule was gracefully worked with gold and silver motifs over green, black, ivory and pink fine fabrics. They were complimenting the bridal and evening femme variety of Aks, like a harmony completely in-sync.
Aks was a breathtakingly beautiful collection that deserved the exclusive attention it attracted last weekend, at the solo exhibition. Models like Fouzia Aman, Sunita Marshall, Sadaf Kanwal, Zara Abid, Shehzad Noor, Aimal Khan (along with many other) walked the ramp and mesmerized the viewers. Many of famous beloved television, fashion and silver screen names were in attendance. Everyone was awestruck and Shehla once again proved that she can weave a magical dress for a magical evening, regardless of how varied ones’ personal preferences are.
Shehla Chatoor really pulled out all stops for this collection and it paid off really well. We are certain many brides-to-be will dazzle in these breathtakingly ethereal dresses this season – and when that happens we will surely let you know. Stay posted!
