Soft, velvety heels are not impossible to obtain. All it takes is a little pampering and some extra care to turn rugged, cracked heels into soft velvety ones. Sometimes some products tend to work wonders for you, while the others only work as long as you’re using them and stop working as soon as you cease to use them. If your heels keep getting cracked again then here are 5 simple steps in which you can have smooth baby feet again:
The most rudimentary step to proper foot care is a warm water foot bath. This will help soften your rugged skin and make it easier for you to remove dead skin cells from the surface. You can add your favorite bath mineral salts or alternatively some Epsom salt to the water in order for them to exfoliate your feet and ease your muscles. Adding about a cup of milt to the warm water bath will also help soften up your skin and fight off any bacteria that might be present on the surface of your skin. Moisturize your feet with a good moisturizer at the end and follow this routine at least once every week.
You can also make an easy to prepare DIY scrub for your feet with ingredients that will be easily available in your house. Add 2 tablespoons of brown or regular sugar to a bowl along with a teaspoon each of honey, lemon juice and coconut oil. Your DIY scrub is ready. After the foot bath, scrub your feet with this mask and try to remove dead skin cells with the help of a pumice stone. This will soften your heels considerably and you’ll notice the difference after the first application. Avoid using a pumice stone and scrub on hard heels as this will further damage your heels and might make your skin chip off and result in infections.
Paraffin wax is used as a skin softener by beauticians in different spas around the world. It devitalizes skin cells and is derived from mineral oil itself. You’ll have noticed that many spas oil your feet, and leave them dipped in paraffin wax for a few minutes before wiping it off. You can purchase some paraffin wax at your local grocery store and add some coconut or olive oil to some wax and then dip your fuel in the mixture overnight. Wrap your feet in a plastic bag or socks. Peel off the wax and marvel at all the difference the wax has made!
The simplest foot mask is the banana mask. All it requires for you to do is mash a banana, finely, then apply it evenly to your feet. Wash this off with warm water and try this at least once every week. You can also put together a simple oatmeal mask using one tablespoon of oatmeal, and a few drops of olive or jojoba oil and massage it onto your feet. Wash this off after about 15-20 minutes. If you have rice flour lying around by any chance then you can also make a foot mask using equal parts of rice flour, apple cider vinegar, and honey. Make a mixture out of these ingredients and leave it on your feet for 15-20 minutes before washing them.
There are many things that you should avoid in order to have soft, velvety heels. For instance, you should try to wear socks with sneakers and boots. Moisturizing sock is also available at cosmetic stores. These socks are specifically designed to keep hard heels moisturized. Furthermore, you should also try to dab on some talcum powder on the inside of your shoes if you’re not wearing socks. If you are wearing socks them apply some talc on the underside of your feet. It will not only absorb the sweat, but it will also stop your feet from emitting foot odor. Alternatively, you can also apply a fragrant oil on your feet before putting on boots such as lavender, sandalwood etc. to keep them moisturized.
These are some of the best ways in which you can have baby soft feet before your wedding and also get rid of dried, flaky heels.
