7 Common Mistakes You Need to Avoid While Handling Your Wedding Invitations

1. Spelling Errors

2. Inappropriate Worded Invites

Since we are desi people, who made English their own. We do misuse words so thoroughly that they are an expected norm. So please pay attention while wording your invitation. Don’t mention your degrees, or qualification on the wedding invite. We find it tasteless when people print Dr., Adv., or (Heaven Forbid!) MBA. We are not kidding you, we’ve seen it happen. 3. Misprinting Date, Time or Venue

That’s purely disastrous. You should make a real effort to communicate the details of the event because they are the basic purpose of the invite. You should check and recheck if the details of the event are mentioned correctly. Any mistakes will come to haunt you at the wedding, when everyone is calling everyone checking the place and time. Enclose a map, and a contact number inside in case of any ambiguity.

4. Recipient’s Name Error

When you are sealing the envelopes and are writing the names of the recipient, jot down proper spellings. One mistake that we have noticed that people write the titles wrong, on the invitations. Blunders like mentioning Mr. & Mrs. ________, when one of invited spouses isn’t anymore, is in bad taste. Take time to know your guests, and maybe call them to properly spell their names. We know people who will appreciate the effort. Besides, calling in person, prior to sending invitation is a courtesy you should extend to your closest relatives.

5. Poor Paper Quality

If you are using recycled paper, do mention that. In any other case, wedding stationery is a big deal. You don’t want your wedding invite to feel scratchy or wrong color and textured at an occasion as auspicious as your wedding. 6. Ordering Too Late

You don’t want to wait until the last minute to place your wedding orders because they are likely to arrive later than when they are due. 7. Ordering Too Few or Too Many Invites

This is another most common problem. You need to make sure that your envelopes and card are the right number. You don’t want any important guests missing out. Also, do order a few extra cards to ensure that if any card has some error, there is another to replace it. You can also use one as a keepsake to show your kids someday.
