8 Things a Bride Should Never Apply on Her Skin EVER!
Every bride wants to look her best on her wedding day. No compromises there. But the need of a radiant glow and flawless complexion doesn’t mean that you should slather on just about anything you read online or think will do the magic. What you do to your skin a few weeks before your wedding is incredibly important. To make sure you don’t regret it and nothing comes in the way of you being a gorgeous bride, there are certain things you absolutely need to avoid putting on your face

Harsh Exfoliators

Don’t start judging too soon. We absolutely admit and advocate the fact that exfoliation is good for skin. It removes dead skin cells and makes your face baby soft. But it’s good only if you do it once or maybe twice a week. If you are going to slather on big scoops of harsh exfoliater every second day and that too with sugar in it, you are probably going to regret it. Sugar’s edges are a bit too harsh and can leave the skin red and irritated. So, let only those scrubs reach your vanity that have a powder base or gram flour in them.

Experimenting with a New Soap

A few weeks before your wedding day is probably not the best time to try that soap you’ve been eyeing for long. A fancy commercial claiming to give you a supple glowing skin in just a few days is the last thing you should be falling for. Stick to the soap or facial wash that you are already using because you never know how the new soap might react on your skin.

Chemical Peels

Again, we are not denying the power of chemical peels to get rid of blemishes and dark spots. But getting on with all these remedies just a couple of days or weeks before your Big Day is a risk you don’t want to take. Chemical-based masks can be harsh on the skin leaving redness or rashes and you don’t want that kind of negativity on your face just days before say ‘Qabool Hai’, right? You could use homemade facial masks or organic face masks that won’t harm your skin in any way.

Toothpaste for Breakouts

Been there, done that, with hardly any positive results. We don’t exactly know where that remedy originated from but this old-school skin trick has definitely become too common with us poor girls running to squeeze a tube of toothpaste every time a pimple pops. You need to stop that, seriously. Because the toothpaste wouldn’t do much for the acne and could instead cause redness and irritation. Instead of further damaging your skin with toothpaste ingredients such as alcohol, peppermint, and peroxide, go for a tea tree oil.

Lemons

Okay, this might seem like an odd one. You might already be thinking who would advise avoiding something that your grandmas swore works miracles for the skin. Well, lemons definitely contain properties that are beneficial for skin but they’re also acidic in nature which can cause irritation when applied directly to the skin. If your skin is already sensitive, applying raw lemon might not be the best idea unless you want to end up with rashes (which you obviously don’t).

Bleach Without Supervision

While it may seem like one of the most harmless things to do, trying a DIY bleach kit on your own is another thing a bride should not be doing a couple of weeks before the Big Day. You don’t really know if the chemicals in there will suit your skin. Speaking from experience, unattended bleach experiments can leave some serious rashes on your skin. So, it’s better to let your professional do the honor of making you glow like a princess.

Body Lotions on Face

There is a reason why body lotions are called body lotions. Their creamy consistency belongs only on the body and not the face. The skin on your face is different than the rest of your skin. It is more sensitive and needs higher moisturizer levels than your arms or legs. Body lotions usually don’t have high moisturizing elements and also contain fragrance that can be irritating on the face. So, keep the body lotions away from your face and pamper your skin the right way before the run-up to the Big Day.

Products You Have No Prior Experience With

Stay away from basically every product you haven’t tried before ever in your life. Your pre-wedding beauty routine should involve only the reliable products that you have tried before. No matter how much of beauty advice is thrown at you or the advertisements flung your way, stick to your tested and tried beauty regime.
