DIY - Clean Hair Tools And Face Brushes In The Comfort Of Your Home!

Article by: Myra Raja

A girl’s best friend is her makeup, no doubt about that, but at what cost. Makeup and hair go hand in hand and if one is done or taken care of and the other isn’t, we mean really how can you look complete? Don’t worry, we at Bridals.pk have some fool proof ways of cleaning and drying brushes to last them a really long time. We also have some ways to clean your hair tools so that the already stuck hair burn smell doesn’t linger on!

1. Why It Is Important To Clean The Brushes?

Brushes if left dirty for too long, can horde off on bacteria and where will that lead us? Back to our face, of course. Not to mention, brushes that are left with buildup, will over time deteriorate and cause the bristles to fall off sooner than later, making you purchase those again. In our opinion and extensive research, brushes should be cleaned once a week. We designate Sunday the official clean up day. Bobbi Brown suggests, brushes used around the eyes should be cleaned twice a month while, all others can be cleaned once a month. So, rather than buying makeup cleaning agents, we are here with our very own DIY, which is two parts dish soap and one part olive oil in a small bowl. Next, you wet your brush and sponge one by one under the faucet and then dip them into the bowl, one by one. Swirl them around, squish them, rub the bristles gently with your hands to remove debris till there is none.

2. Another Simple Tip To Clean The Brushes!

There is also a tutorial on Facebook in 5-minute crafts on how to create a perfect textured mat which does the dirty work for you rather than your fingers. Rather than buying a cleaning mat, for $40 you can take a clipboard and using a liquid glue, just make weaves and lines and shapes whatever your heart desires to create textures. Squirt a little soap on them and gently follow those designs with your wet brush, you will see the makeup debris leaving a trail on your clipboard and the original color of the bristles returning. Use blow-drying on low setting or let them dry under the sun preferably upside down so that there is no chance of damaging them.

3. Cleaning The Hair Equipment!

When was the last time you cleaned your blow-dryers or curling, flat irons? Product left on your hair tools can burn hair and cause split ends. Basically, what you need to do is, make sure your appliance is unplugged and then go over them with a slightly damp cloth, you can also add rubbing alcohol to the slightly damp cloth for best results. Remove as much of the build up as possible and dry the hot tool entirely before using. Enjoy the smooth gliding of your straighter or curler after that, with perfect bouncy curls or perfectly smooth straight hair.
