Zainab Abbas is the daughter of a domestic cricketer Nasir Abbas and politician Andleeb Abbas. Zainab grew up to finish her MBA at the University of Warwick, England. Not only is she the only female sports presenter of the country but she also happens to be the first woman in the cricketing world to attain 1 million followers on twitter! Not many people can boast this huge fan-base in the cricketing world. Her husband is Hamza Kardar and he is the son of our former finance minister and the former governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, Shahid Hafeez Kardar. Their whole wedding was fun-filled and many famous cricketers and several sports journalists were also in attendance.
We got to see the whole wedding in glimpses and we wish the lovely couple a brilliant future ahead! Here is everything you need to know about their wedding!
She had a super cool “retro dholki nite” before the wedding and we loved the vintage theme and the overall uniqueness of the dholki. She wore a beautiful yellow dress with a contrasting pink dupatta and the whole thing was traditional with a dash of the bride’s personalized touches!
She looked simply gorgeous on her wedding and was styled by Zara Gul. She wore an elegant gharara, shirt and dupatta by Saadia Mirza Couture. She paired her outfit with her mother’s heirlooms and we think that is such a simple and beautiful gesture!
For her Mayun she chose an off-white Sania Maskatiya dress with red detailing. The highlight of her ensemble was the rust dupatta that stayed gracefully on her head throughout the ceremony. Zara Gul did her makeup and she chose to wear accessories by Pappu Jewels to complement the Sania Maskatiya dress.
Her shendi was by far our favorite event of the whole wedding and not just because she looked like a princess but also because of the way she made her way into the venue with a cricket bat in her hand. Her friends and family were also in tow and held cricket bats too as they escorted her all the way to the stage. The cricket anthem “seeti bajay gi” played in the background as she made her entrance and the cricketer Mohammed Amir bowled to her and she playfully struck the ball with her bat. The whole shendi was super fun and the bride even showed off her well-practiced dance moves with her squad on her shendi!
As for the reception, she wore a silver Elan Official dress designed exclusively by Khadijah Shah! Her makeup was done by Alle’nora Annie Official and standing up to their name, they made sure that she looked ravishing on her reception!
Her official wedding photographer was Palwasha Minhas who is responsible for beautifully capturing the most important moments of our favorite sports journalist in pictures!
