While weddings are the most entertaining ceremony of one’s life, it is also a stressful and daring task to fulfill. Organizing a wedding takes immense preparations at least a year before the actual date and even then there are so many last minute tasks you are left to do. You have to be careful to not let it be chaotic and not miss out on important details in order to make it a successful event. Keeping all the preparations and stress in mind, we have come up with a checklist to help you encounter tasks and plan the wedding in an organized way.
Have a formal meeting with everyone involved in organizing the wedding that includes family, close friends and anyone else you think should be a part of the first meeting. Make a list of things that are to be finalized in the days preceding this meeting. These include:
– Day time or evening
– Large or small,
– Simple of fancy
– assign the overall planner or coordinator
– the person has an experience in organizing a large event, is tolerant and patient
– the person can handle pressure and stress
– a consensus has been formed in assigning that person
– select the Sharia committee
– the committee makes sure that marriage contract details including Haq Mehr conditions have been finalized
– required details from the couple to get married in a particular state

– type of flowers to be used
– the venue allows to carry out the decorations a day before
– book the Imam
– set the sound system
– discuss the timing with the manager
– make sure the program is followed
– design selection of both bride and groom
– measurements are taken
– make sure the tailoring is done on time, at least 2 months before the wedding
– get done with alterations if any required
– final clothes and accessories are ready a week before the final day
– discus the design with the relevant parties

– make sure the spellings are correct
– arrange for the printing of cards
