Highlights Of PHBCW’19: Everything That Happened At The Pantene HUM Bridal Couture Week

One of the most awaited fashion events of the country happened. Just like every year it gave us fashion critics quite a lot to think about! Every designer brought their best work forward and reestablished new boundaries for the whole industry. They’ve set new trends that everyone will be following for quite some time! Every design concept was unique in its own standing. Each collection quite a sight to behold! All the creations sang of our heritage and reminded us of how contemporary design elements can be incorporated in traditional bridal dresses.

Some talented designers stunned us with their showstoppers. While others used singers like Abrar-ul-Haq to light up the ramp with their dynamic performances!

Here are all the highlights from the Pantene HUM Bridal Couture Week 2019! Ladies and gentlemen take notes!

 

1. Day 1

 

Fahad Hussayn got the show started with his collection “Labyagawachi – The Chamkeeli Edit.” Abrar-ul-Haq sang some of his best tracks as models clad in Fahad Hussayn’s traditional wedding wear walked down the ramp. His dresses this year were traditional and sparkly. The second in like was Ayesha Imran who displayed her collection “Shadi Mubarak.” Her brilliant formal attires included velvet and organza outfits that make the perfect fall wedding wear. In the end the beautiful Minal Khan walked down the ramp in a classical red bridal from Shadi Mubarak. Almirah’s menswear gave us all major sherwani inspirations for grooms.

 

Some other couture houses and couturiers such as Zonia Anwaar, Nitasha Bilal and Haris Shakeel. Adnan Siddiqui was Royal tag’s showstopper whereas, the gorgeous Saba Qamar walked in a traditional red Samsar Couture house bridal dress. Sarah Khan stunned us all in a dull gold  lehenga by Nilofer Shahid. On that note the first day drifted to a magical end!

 

 

 

2. Day 2

 

PHBCW gained momentum on its second day which was even more happening than the first one! It kicked off with Emraan Rajput’s “Shalima” and we got to see come really classy menswear in her slot! Our hearts skipped a beat as Ali Zafar sauntered on the ramp in a black sequined sherwani and reinstated our faith in black being the ultimate color for men to melt your heart in. Humayun Alamgir and Rici Melion also displayed their menswear on the second day. After Emraan Rajput’s handpicked hunks and scintillating sherwanis, we feasted our eyes on Aisha Farid’s “Nur un Nissa” and loved that moment when the Mere Pas Tum Ho star Ayeza Khan walked down the aisle in a silver lehenga with a matching blouse with off-shoulder sleeves and a net neckline.

We also got to see traditional bridal wear by Sadaf Amir, Kausar Sajid, Shakeel’s by Zeeshan Danish who’s showstopper was the beautiful Urwa Hocane. The cast of the movie SACH also walked the ramp on the song “Azmalay.” Then Sheeba Kabadia presented her collection “Claire de Lune” inspired by the famous song composition o the same name by Debussy. Her heritage bridal collection’s showstopper was Sanam Jung who looked ravishing in a well detailed lehenga with two dupattas.

Chinyere’s collection “Ishq Nachaye Gali Gali” was truly mesmerizing. One of Pakistan’s top models Juggan Kazim brought her charm to the ramp in a dress and mathapatti that reminded us a little of Kashmir! Maria. B’s the “Lady of Amritsar” was like a blast from the past and her pre-partition apparels were simply drool worthy!

 

 

 

3. Day 3

 

Shamsha Hashwani started the show with her collection “Diwan-i-Khas” inspired by Mughal motifs and silhouettes. Sonya Hussayn and Ali Rehman took our breaths away in her marvelous creations. We also got to see Souchaj’s Shadi Mubarak, Reema Ahsan’s Madhubala starring the elegant Resham, Ahsan’s Darwesh starring Munib Butt, Umsha by Uzma Babar’s Khwab and House of Mehdi’s Myth. Iffat Omer was goals as she walked the ramp in a henna green House of Mehdi bridal dress. Anaya by Kiran Khan’s collections “La Vie en Rose” featured the melodious Ali Sethi and Zoe Viccaji clad in white dresses from the collection.

One of the highlights of the day was Munib Nawaz’s collection November Reign. Along with Honey Waqar’s vibrant collection “Gul Mohar.” The recently married Mira Sethi, Mehreen Syed, Ghana Ali and Eshal. Pantene introduced their new bottle after an entertaining hair show. Maria Unera too gave a soulful performance after which Farwa Kazmi received her “Ramp Queen of the PHBCW’19” award and the show drifted to an end.
