Imagine waking up on a fine summer morning, getting dressed and seeing your face in the mirror and spotting a huge zit on your previously flawless visage. And then come the internal screams, the agony brought on by unexpected breakouts and sheer sadness. Because deep down you feel guilty for having eaten that chocolate bar the day before. Well the pain is real ladies. This is summertime sadness. But luckily for you summer breakouts aren’t all that difficult to get rid of (punches the air internally). Unless your family has the tendency to produce excessive dead skin cells (it runs in your family), all forms of acne can be dealt with.
Acne is caused mainly due to pores clogged by oil and dead skin cells. Your skin needs regular exfoliation. Period. Whether your exfoliation routine involves scrubbing, natural remedies or even regular visits to your favorite salon, exfoliation is your knight in shining armor and will solve all your skin-related problems. Here are some effective remedies to help you prevent summer breakouts:
The idea of using toothpaste to get rid of breakouts may seem a little absurd but the fact that it is effective goes without saying. All you really need to do is apply some toothpaste to those ugly zits overnight and the zit will be reduced to a tolerable size by the next day!
Tea tree oil is one of the most renowned natural oils that help fight acne. The reason why it keeps acne at bay is because of its ability to fight bacteria and alleviate inflammation of the skin. In order to prevent and cure acne this summer, increase your usage of tea tree oil products such as gels, cleansers and toners. Products containing 5% tea tree oil prove to be more. You can also whip up a Fuller Earth (Multani mitti) and tea tree oil mask and apply it to your face every other day. Add a few drops of rose water to keep your skin hydrated.
Both my mother and grandmother had fair, acne free skin all their lives. This was mainly because their beauty regimens only consisted of natural remedies. And let me get you in on the secret to their smooth skin. They both used organic honey to make DIY masks at home that work wonders against acne. The main ingredients of these masks were honey, cinnamon and tomatoes, that are all antioxidants that work really well together. Simply add equal parts of honey and tomato pulp to a bowl and add some ground cinnamon to it and there’s your DIY honey mask!
If your skin is merely inflamed and the heat is the reason why you’ve got summer breakouts, then you should probably dab on some cool Aloe Vera gel onto your skin. Not only does Aloe Vera gel help soothe the skin and ease the swelling brought on by acne, but it also helps heal sun burnt skin.
Lemon juice is rich in Vitamin C which is why it plays a vital role in fending off unwelcome breakouts. Simply squeeze some fresh lemon juice in your everyday face mask if you have sensitive skin. Alternatively, if you have tough skin (as in literally) then you can directly apply some fresh lemon juice to your pimples for the desired results.
These are some unusual yet effective ways to prevent and ward off summer breakouts. And remember brides! Get plenty of beauty sleep and lay back and relax! Stress and lack of sleep can sometimes lead to breakouts too.
