You often go through pictures of celebrities with flawless makeup making them look so attractive and you just can’t help but think about how they achieve it every day. Well, they of course have stylists and makeup artists to hit every right mark when it comes to makeup but how can we achieve that look? For us, it might be a matter of figuring out what we do wrong when applying makeup. Here are some possible mistakes that all of us make:
We all want to cover the extra spots on our face and in order to do so, we keep applying layers of foundations until satisfied. We think that applying those layers will cover the texture but in reality it will show more of the texture. The top solution for this is the primer. A primer smooths out your skin which in return means less foundation layers and a smooth texture for makeup.
A highlighter is not supposed to make it look like all the room’s lights are bouncing off your face. Its duty is to make your skin look radiant. You also need to choose a highlighter that goes with your skin tone which is most definitely where we all go wrong. A pearly highlighter goes best with a fair complexion, champagne one if you fall in the medium category and bronze or copper for dark complexion. Make it smooth and not over-the-top.
We have confused a highlighter with a brightener and use it everywhere to brighten up the dull areas, especially under the eyes. A highlighter is made for areas that reveal the high points on your face like cheekbones, brow bones and not under the eyes. Applying the highlighter there grays up the dark circles and you definitely don’t want that.
Do not go overboard with a concealer when it is not required. You might use it too much to cover the spots, and dark circles but applying layers of concealer is of no help and makes it more obvious. Start with a liquid foundation under your eyes and blend it properly. You will see that the spots have already toned down. Then apply concealer if needed.
A common mistake that we do with not just the foundation but the bronzer as well. It shows when we don’t cover up our chest and neck the same way as our face so when you apply bronzer on your face, be sure to dust up your neck and chest with it too. A bronzer helps in matching the tones if you don’t want to apply foundation on your neck and chest, so blend it on the required areas.
All of us can achieve the perfect makeup if we avoid some mistakes that we all make. Celebrities might have expensive makeup artists to make them look all pretty but us normal people can also achieve them with a little bit of focus and attention. Avoid these simple mistakes, watch a few YouTube tutorials and go through makeup blogs, and you will be your own number one makeup artist in no time!
